CHAK DE INDIA: An inspiration....

A movie with a difference. a really different one in the latest time. a resurgent movie never seen before. this movie captures the pain and agony of a player who plays for india, gives his whole life for a game but one mistake or a missed chance can be a burden for life. the burden of being labelled as a traitor when you are playing against your arch rivals, when everything is at stake. bringing together 16 different girls, each with its own ability, together to form a team called INDIA, to turn his dream of winning the championship of hockey into reality.

When SRK asks the girls at the camp which team do they play for and when one of them speaks the word india instead of the respective state, that is one of the many moments when you sit up and start noticing. The speech which he gives while addressing them is almost the same as it was given in LAKSHYA... The fight scene at mc donalds is really hilarious and really proves one point that do not engage in a scuffle with girls especially when they are together and too many. The start of the world cup will really set your pulses racing. The way they come back from the first heavy defeat to register a win in the 2nd match in a do-or-die situtaion to stay in the tournament is ...AWESOME. Another stint when you feel patriotic is when the national anthem is played at the start of the first match. Well, all of us really straightened our seats and sat still for those 5-7 seconds when it was being played. Only a select few can describe the feeling when you are on the field, listening the national anthem and the feeling arises that you are representing your country carrying the hopes of millions back home on your shoulders.

The good thing is that the match scores are not hyped much and nor does the team to show that they are the underdogs.. they have been made to realise their strength. Its the journey of a team,of a nation. Just before the semis, the captain asks srk what he is looking at and the reply???

Pehli baar ek gore ko hindustan ka jhanda pheyraate huye dekh raha hoon..... whistles all over the place at this and the hopes of the nation are shown when sukhlal ji telephones from india to speak to the team....

player: sukhlal ji, aapke daal chawaal bahut yaar aa rahe hain.

sukhlal : betaji ek baar jeet kar aao to sahi, zindagi bhar apne haath se daal chawaal bana kar khilaunga. haarna nahin.
player : mar jaayenge sukhlal ji magar haar kar nahin aayenge.

At the dinner night just before the finals, the players look gorgeous in the traditional tri coloured saris. You start winning and the world notices you. In the final, the co-ordination between the two forwards is just superb when they keep aside their personal differences and strive for a common goal...... A GOAL !!!!!

The speech by srk in the locker room is just amazing...wo 70 minutes...This movie will make you cry..believe me,it will...so carry your hankies around with you to the hall.Just cannot describe the feeling and emotions which the coach goes through when india wins, and you will also cry with him. I DID.. The title track will really inspire you that country comes first. If you ask my choice of the candy floss gals in the movie, check out Preeti sabarwal...she is truly wow..

This movie is a journey of a man who deams of winning a gold medal by remembering his painful past and does it,its a journey of different girls who achieve the impossible, its a absolute awesome chance of reviving india`s national sport and i truly believe that this movie will surely do it. Its a treat for all those people who wear their patriotism up thrie sleeves and the the country in their hearts. You will surely come out singing CHAK DE INDIA... A must see for every indian who loves sports, who chase their dreams, who believes that he/she is an indian and still beieves in the fighting spirit of the human mind and the feeling of being an indian...

DIL CHAHTA HAI : The unexpressed thoughts.

For 6 years now , I have been trying to write about it and now i got the time to do that. This movie taught me that what it is to get immersed in the storyline while watching the film. Pure bliss!! A story about 3 guys who have passed out of college and are enjoying their lives. It is a story about their lives, their emotions and their friendship. The most enthrailing thing comes up in the casting itself- the background music which is there…so soothing and perfect. If you ponder over the words, DIL CHAHTA HAI would translate into what the heart wants today – our friends, love and the support from the families.

A frantic phone call had aakash and sameer rush to sid`s house made me think that do friends really do this and the reply was a definite yes. Now this was pure friendship where other`s troubles seem like your own, his happiness yours. Their talk is so close to us. Their colourful holi at midnight is the starting of many fun moments. The hug between sameer and sid speaks volumes about 2 pals meeting after a long time. The joy in the voice is truly estatic. Even the people watching could feel the emotions. The graduation party is the perfect example of the various “chipku” college gals whom you wanna ignore at any costs. Aamir is pure joy. He sure lights up be the screen with his pranks, be it starting a fight between sameer and priya or proposing to shalini in that awesome way and then being all purple in the eye. The common reaction between me and aamir on seeing the first shot of Preity was WOW!!!! He was doing that on the screen and I was doing that watching the screen. Sameer is still synomonous with his installment talk on the phone. The fun part starts on the trip to goa. The song really sets up the mood. The race with the train is carried on even till today by all of us. A trip with your buddies, far from the maddening crowd is the biggest relaxer. The fort scene really captured the beauty of the sea and Goa. The talk between the 3 of them especially sid`s wordings made reality come face to face with us. Truly said ..kiski zindagi kisko kahan le jaayegi kya pata??? Kabhi socha hai ki har saal yahaan aana to ek taraf , shayad 10 saal mein ek baar bhi milna mushkil ho. And the reassurance from aakash Hum dost they, hain aur rahenge…HAMESHA KE LIYE !!!
A varied contrast in every one of them. Sid is the smartest ,be it about life or about someone`s feelings. His wordings really taught me that do not grasp anything too tightly or it will slip between the fingers. Sameer is the guy in love with every girl(those heart up his sleeve types) and finally aakash who wants to be just tension free like when he talks to his dad-

Dad : yehi haal raha to mere budaaape tak ek aadh cheque to sign kar hi loge

Akash: dad zindagi mein cheque sign karne ke ilaava bhi bhaut kuch hai
Dad : aur kya hai yeh bahut kuch???Akash: abhi tak to nahin pata magar pata lagte hi sabse pehle aapko hi bataunga.

The great thing about them is that the trio moves in teams of 2….be it going to sid`s house at midnight or to sameer`s when he is relaxing on the pillow. He is out of this world. Absolutely tongue tied infront of pooja but when she leaves, he is in love with her…that is why akash said… tera koi bharosa nahin, aaj pooja kal koi dooja.. The most stunning scene which changes the story dramatically is when they return from the b`day party. The slap showed that there is a line in friendship which should never be crossed and the “did-not-counter-slap” from akash did keep the respect and dignity of friendship intact and alive. Those few dialogues between the two of them really outclasses everything else. Sameer played the part of a peacemaker absolutely perfectly. Remember what he said to akash?? Doston ke beech kabhi kabhi ho jaata hai yaar.

… Looked like akash would never grow up, be it the graduation party or the plane.. Preity was mindblowing in her character of Shalini, a gal who is modern yet simple and understanding. Her chemistry with aamir is just mindblowing and fabulous. The close up shots of both of them at the train station really shows the emotions between them. When sameer says to sid, “agar pooja ne na kar di to main phir se akela ho jaunga…tu bhi yahan nahin tha aur akash bhi”.. his words really summarized the fact that we dread a girl`s no the most and the backing up of our friends is needed in that time. When preity comes to the opera, that is the 2nd time my heart goes wow again. The way she explains aamir the feeling of love would make anyone believe in love…all you need to do is to understand the emotions.

The scene when akash closes his eyes and sees shalini really completes the whole opera scene. His transformation really began from that scene onwards. The pain of love is really reflected in “Tanhai”. When he cries in his room it shows the pain in his heart. Now he understands the words which sid had said and that is why he dials up his no. when he wanted to talk to sameer. His memories at the college are very nostalgic…everybody goes through those feelings and emotions. The scene which deserves a standing ovation is at the hospital. Right from where they start talking on the phone to where they hug…..just freeze all that and feel it…akash`s words aaj , abhi, isi waqt ,just turn around and the the looking up of sid are out of this world… A heart warming scene and I cry everytime I watch it…EVERYTIME !!
Preity and aamir look really good and her acting and emotions really made me sit up and take notice – literally. I thought that that only she could pull up such an amazing performance with such ease. All the 3 guys are outstanding. The songs are truly abundant in variety and emotions- the fun loving DIL CHAHTA HAI , the feeling of love speaking Kaisi hai yeh rut, the dance floor burning Koi kahe, the love song Who ladki, the reasoned love one Jaane kyun and the chartbuster of them all TANHAYEE….No other song captures the pain and feelings of love as beautifully as this one. Aamir`s emotions made that song beautiful. Even the wordings go hand in hand with the scenes. For me the climax had everything… one of those dialogues which showed that undeclared love is painful.that is why akash said to shalini-

Mujhse shaadi karogi??

Agar main tumse kahoon ki main tumse pyar karta hoon tab bhi nahin??
Shalini, main sirf tumse pyar karta hoon
Meri har saans, har dhadhkan, har pal mein sirf tum ho shalini
Mujhe yakin hai ki main sirf isliye janma hoon ki tumse pyar kar sakoon aur tum sirf isliye ki ek din meri ban jaao
Agar tum apne dil se poochogi to jaan logi ki main sach keh raha hoon..

Who would have thought that one day these very words would become a reality for him considering the joke that he did on the graduation day party with these same words and the same girl… always remember PYAR SOCH SAMAJH KAR NAHIN KIYA JAATA , BAS JO JAATA HAI.......

This movie also shows one thing that families do understand the feelings of their children. First it was akash`s dad who called him back from Australia when he got the slightest hint that he was not happy there and then he was the one who gave me the support and confidence to go and tell shalini about his feelings and find out the reason. He understood well that what was akash going through. Then it was shalini`s father who understood his daughter`s state of the heart…. Amazing families which are really special..

Even till today I remember each and every frame of this movie, every scene to follow, every dialogue, everything…I was the most happiest when it got the national award for the best film and lagaan lost.. I never ever wanted lagaan to win the national award. The day when it won the national award, I celebrated the night as if it was diwali.. I still keep its dvd in a safe place away from everbody….its accessible only to me… bcoz DIL CHAHTA HAI…

Why DCH is a part of my life ???????

All those people who know me really really well(select friends, relatives and parents) know how much I am crazy about DCH. The craziness exceeds all boundaries but they really do not understand why I do it. Here it is why-

· The times I have watched this movie is well above 850+.

· It is as fresh as the morning breeze everytime.

· This movie showed me that it is not necessary to have dance steps in every song. The song can be completed even with pure emotions.

· It has the perfect balance between extremes. Neither does it depict the love in extremes like that of devdas, nor friendship as sholay. It knows very well where to draw the line.

· The music sure does takes you into a trip to heaven.

· I am still searching for those 2 exclusive friends who can barge into my house at midnight at just one call.

· The joy and emotions of meeting someone after such a long time can only be felt. It cannot be expressed. I know it bcoz I have felt it from my heart whenever I have met someone after a very long time.

· The music of SEL is truly fab alongwith the lyrics of javed sahab. Some years back when shankar mahadevan came as a contestant on SaReGaMa , listening to his voice and just one one line made me realize that his voice had the magic to make it big but had never imagined the spell he would cast years later through such awesome songs in DCH.

· My all time fav. Song “ Tanhai” is from this movie. It took SEL 15 min. to prepare the tune for this song ( the longest ever they did it for any song and it is the most toughest one for which they have ever worked…They told this once).

· The film taught me all about friendship and love.

· And the fact that “ Pyar faisle se nahin kiya jaata, bas ho jaata hai”.

· Enjoying every moment you are with friends, is more like heaven and the most treasured.

· The sounds effects are awesome. The dialogues looked like they are being spoken to the person watching it and he is also in the same room as the 3 of them.

·We do need parents who can treat us as friends or someone who can understand our feelings and pain just like our friends would do it...No showing of authority please. (remember akash`s father telling him to go and tell shalini his feelings). Now in which household would you get that response ???? few, very few…

· A guy can go down on his knees, tears in the eyes and can express his feelings to the one girl he loves the most anywhere and also when the situation demands it.

· Enjoying every moment you are with your friends, is the most treasured and seems like heaven.

· The kind of respect I have it for this movie is you can say , phenominal..no small letters allowed while writing the name of this movie…..whether it is the full DIL CHAHTA HAI or the short DCH…only block letters allowed.

· I understood that every girl does have a small heart which can fall in love with someone without informing(we guys are not the only ones who fall in love).

· Pyar aapko badal nahin sakta…….badal hi deta hai.

· The 2nd time around Goa seemed more beautiful as I visited all the places shown in the movie….every single one of them(got a chance to go there after 10 years just recently).

· Life without your best friends can be really boring.

· Before making fun of others` feelings keep one thing in mind that one day you will also go through the same feelings and then you will experience unbearable pain…

· This movie taught me to have fun with my friends.

· This movie brings everything in reality.. it doesn`t show the characters saying I LOVE YOU to each other in the streets of mumbai and in the next frame we have the dream song(mostly unnecessary) in the slopes of Switzerland with stupid dance steps…

· Jab aankhen hi aapas mein baat kar lein to zubaan ki zaroorat nahin hoti..

· Agar uljhan ya mushkil ke waqt koi puraana yaar saath ho to mushkil apne aap hi kum ho jaati hai aur umeed ka aisa sahara milta hai jo bayaan nahin hota.

· After seeing this movie, I am afraid of loosing my friends……they all met once again after 2 years(akash, sameer and sid) but I do not know when I will meet them(my friends) if I loose them…but be assured of one thing, at any point of our meeting, the joy and the tears in the eyes would be more heart warming alongwith the hug which would be even more tighter than the one between akshay and aamir.

This movie has done it all the time for the others…..a perfect trump card for others to be used against me. It served as an alarm clock. The title track was used(and also even till today) to wake me up from my sound sleep anytime…all you needed to do was to search the tv channel playing that song and I would be wide awake in 5 seconds the moment the song went into my ears…….everytime, anytime, always… FOREVER !!!!!!!!

Some lessons to be learnt from the movie DIL CHAHTA HAI….

Ø Freaking out and enjoying life doesn`t need drugs or ciggarates.

Ø There are relationships apart from bf/gf, marriage, siblings, friendship that can be very emotional and true which is beyond the understanding of many people.

Ø And yeah though you maybe the best of friends there is always a limit which should never be crossed. Then it starts hurting…..

Ø Improving your imperfections after you realize it, always takes some time.

Ø You always don`t need to show or prove your gf how much you love or care about her, which can sound very boring and finally you are dumped.

Ø Do not be afraid of others, always think that others are afraid of you.

Ø You don`t need a cellphone while you are studying or freaking out doing nothing, once you fall into business or job then you may need it.

Ø No one is perfect.

I have been trying to follow all the above points in my life ever since I watched DCH in the hall and I must say that they have become a part of my life, except for the cell phone point which was entrusted to me forcefully.. Since then I have been trying not to break any more of these “heavenly” rules. These things have added a new dimension in my life.

Upgrade

Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0

Dear Tech Support Team: Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child-processes that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activities.Applications such as BachelorNights 10.3, Cricket 5.0, BeerWithBuddies 7.5, and Outings 3.6 no longer runs, crashing the system whenever selected. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications.I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 5.0 , but the 'uninstall' doesn't work on Wife 1.0.Please help! Thanks,"A Troubled User"

REPLY:

Dear Troubled User:This is a very common problem that people complain about. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 5.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program.Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 5.0.It is impossible to uninstall, or purge the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 5.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed not to allow this. (Look in your Wife 1.0 Manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support).I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the environment.I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software augmentation. The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean 2.5, Sweep 3.0, Cook 1.5 and DoLaundry 4.2. However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program NagNag 9.5.Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Sarees 2.1 & Jewellery 5.0

STATUTORY WARNING :DO NOT, under any circumstances, install SecretaryWithShortSkirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.

Best of luck,

Tech Support ..

Priceless !!!!!!!!!

A man woke up at home with a huge hangover. He forced himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he saw is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table. He sat down and sees his clothing infront of him, all clean and pressed. Rohit looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house. He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table. "Honey, breakfast is on the gas, I left early to go shopping. Love You!"

So he goes to the kitchen and sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper. His son is also at the table, eating. Rohit asks, "Son, what happened last night?"

His son says, "Well, you came home around 3 AM, drunk and delirious.Broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you stumbled into the door". Confused, Rohit asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, and breakfast is on the table waiting for me? I should expect a big quarrel with her!" His son replies, "Oh, that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your clothes n shoes off, you said , "Hey, leave me alone! I'm married!"

Moral of the Story :-

Breakfast -- Rs. 100.00

How girlz rate guyz

Girls' relationship with guys is a bigger mystery than girls themselves. It's not just about boyfriends, we're talking about guy friends that gals have.Do you have a gal who is just a friend? Are confused why the frequency of calls increases as exams loom closer? Or why she always hangs around with the moron who isn't fit to wear Jeetendra's white shoes? Here's a ready reckoner for you:

% just a friend %
Well, you are like a show piece in my house. I will call you whenever I need you. If you call me home the chances are 9 out of 10 times she might say, "Oh Rahul, I am going out can you call me after 2 days??" Rahul: "Where are you going Shilpa??"Shilpa: "None of your business" and bangs the phone.(Useless fellow.Hmmph! ).

% Good Friend %
You are like a TV remote control. I need you and I know that. But I try using you when I really need you. Rahul calls: "Hi Shilpa",Shilpa: "Hi Rahul. I am going out with family I will call you back. Bye"(Shilpa calls back after two days)Shilpa: "What do you want Rahul? Why did you call that day?". Rahul: "Generally".Shilpa: "Oh ok. I got to go out. Will call you later. Bye."Will call when she needs lecture notes or some concert tickets.

% Very good friend %
Well you are like the pressure cooker safety value for the girl. She will need you when she wants to bring out her pain or anger on someone.Basically, she wants to talk to you. And you are special to her.Shilpa: "You know Rahul, Shekhar is not eating. He doesn't sleep and is not able to concentrate on his studies. I think he doesn't like me anymore. And yesterday I saw him with another girl". Rahul: "Who is Shekhar??"Shilpa : "My boyfriend."Rahul: Oh! ok. :-(

Namastey London: the movie which made me crazy

Namastey London is one movie which left me spellbound for the whole length of 2 n half hours of the movie time....first of all,why did it end??? could it not have gone on and on and on....i don`t mind sitting in the hall. I am not a movie critic who would write an anlysis of the movie which i see but this is one such movie which had to be written about.I do not know from where to start.Katrina just sizzles up the screen by her presence, pure 2.3 hrs. of katrina, katrina and only katrina unlike HDKG where she appeared in tits and bits. Her beauty in this film surpasses all of her earlier ones.Good thing that she dubbed in her own voice as it brings authencity and originality in her character.Akshay just shares an awesome chemistry with her.Without him nothing could have been possible.Rishi kapoor is just excellent in his role as jazz`s father and also jawed sheikh who plays upen`s.

Comedy is somthing which is inherent in this movie and also some scenes which you want to see again, again and again.Romance is there in this movie which is conveyed all through the eyes and in upspoken words. The close up shots of akshay and katrina`s eyes and emotions speak up of all the love which is there in the air.The scene where akshay tells katrina," Mujhe tumhe dekhte hi pehli nazar mein hi pyar ho gaya tha" at the start of the song YEHI HOTA PYAR is truly mindblowing. There are a few scenes which touch a chord at your heart either emotionally or comedy wise are great. All the scenes between akshay and rishi kapoor are fabulous.Be it in the park or at the bar.Akshay`s dialogue at the bar to rishi kapoor makes you feel the pain he is going through.

The scenes right from the bachelors in india to arjun`s dadi asking rishi kapoor about katrina when she faints on seeing butter and ghee is just hilarious. The biggest shock katrina gives in the movie comes in the scenes just before the interval where she reveals her intentions during the planning of the reception leave you dumbstruck. The translation scene of akshay and katrina talking to the britishers about the greatness and facts of india is just superb. The whole hall went bonkers at this scene cheering and clapping wildly. The 2nd one was the rugby match where probably i was the loudest in the whole hall cheering and clapping among the others.First thing which makes the scene special is the dialogue between rishi kapoor and jawed sheikh ........

after the ball is snatched from rishi kapoor
rishi kapoor- strategy.....yeh strategy hai
jawed sheikh- kaisi strategy????
rishi kapoor- life saving strategy....jab jaan bachegi tabhi to khelenge
jawed sheikh- wo kahan hai jisne yeh challenge liya hai
rishi kapoor- wo wahan stands mein auraton ke beech mein baithkar popcorn khaa raha hai.

it makes your stomach hurt with laughter. The rugby match could not have been won had it not been for the combined co-ordination between arjun and imran...awesome.....The match draws you into it,letting you forget everything else and you also want the combination of India and pakistan to win.The scene of arjun talking to imran outside the mosque was the most emotional between the 2.It told him about his real identity of what he really is.This and the subsequent scenes to follow this one where imran tells susan`s parents that he will not change his identity and his words to her,"i love you and i want you to love me as I am , not as what yo uwant me to become" deserve a standing ovation...Truly said,a love cannot change your real identity and you must not also do that.26 saal ki apni pehchaan ko 26 hafton ke pyaar ke liye badla nahin jaata. His homecoming also brings tears to the eyes.

Speaking of tears and emotions the dance classes in which arjun says,"Main mazaak nahin kar raha hoon, meri shaadi ho chuki hai aur main dobara shaadi nahin karoonga" tells about his love for jazz. The most lovely scene is that whole one in which he tells her that after some years when they will become old and he will call her to meet him is fab..He describes her emotions better than her and she also can feel what is going through her mind. This one really sums up the emotions. The cinematography in that scene is just too good. What an excellent transition between the present and the future. The last scene is which she says NO is just tremendous. It looked so real, the emotions on her face so good you could sense the feelings in her heart at that moment.Akshay`s no resortment to any "herogiri" is the biggest USP of Namastey London.

Coming on to the music, the biggest and the most surprising star is that english song in the beginning and which is used in the background also from time to time.Without it,i do not thonk that one real emotion would have surfaced.Regarding the songs, although in the cassette my fav. song is RAFTA RAFTA followed by VEERANIYA,MAIN JAHAAN RAHOON and CHAKNA but when speaking in context of actually seeing the song in the movie,in the sitauation YEHI HOTA PYAR emerges the clear winner followed by VEERANIYA and MAIN JAHAN RAHOON.Yehi hota pyar truly shows the love between the two,Veeraniya shows the pain and main jahaan rahoon is all about the memories of india.

Katrina looks fab in all the dresses in the movie,be it western or indian but the one in which she looked drop dead gorgeous was in the yellow dress in the garden with water. She looked truly awesome in indian dresses,be it the one for rafta rafta(orange suit, the red one and the blue one),the first scene with ritesh deshmukh, the orange saree in the wedding. She looks truly fab in salwar suits. The scene where arjun lies to his bebe about jazz made me cry..And i forgot one more thing,She looks just looks great in a pony tail with some hairs falling on her forehead. That makes her look so indian......something just happens in my heart.

A salute to the director for bringing out such a beautiful movie. If you are wondering that how i am able to write all this then note that i wrote all this straight after i came from the hall.In this way i can write all i want without the danger of forgetting something.

Please tell me how was the review as it was all heart and no mind.I am ready to go to the hall to see it "n" number of times.
