Rab ne bana de jodi- a sweet and captivating story

Its an awweessome movie. No its not any spelling mistake but its an expression after watching this movie. An exceptional movie which will win the hearts and the minds of many. Its what the chopras are expert at – romance and they handle it hare with utmost deft and perfection. Who says that love stories are things of the past ?? Its not another husband and wife story who fall in love over the course of 3 hours, its much different than that and that much more beautiful. It’s a entertainer with a beautiful story which is wrapped so beautifully that you can do nothing but admire that. Romance would still rule the world and the hearts and minds of the people and this movie tries this formula again and is success at it. This movie is not for those who see movies keeping their heads intact, its for those who make use of their hearts. Just see this movie and become engrossed with every frame, every scene, every dialogue, every emotion.

It makes you realize that you can still fall in love at first sight ( even today that magic works), still respect the other person`s feelings that she can`t love you straightaway after she has been through some of the toughest times in her life.

Shahrukh and Anushka are really a jodi not to be missed. They really compliment each other beautifully. He is the common man who “ Works for Punjab power ji”.

He is the husband who cares for her, loves her deeply but is not expressive because he knows that she would not be able to love him anymore. He respects her feelings and tries really hard to understand her, make her feel comfortable. He moves out of his room so that she can have the room while he himself goes to the attic to sleep. He is happy and estatic when she smiles, deeply hurt and lost when she is sad. Where else would you find a man with so much love for his wife that when his friend advices him to give 1-2 slaps to her to make her understand he immediately scolds him and says, “ Jis din yeh haath taani ji par uth gaya us din mera yeh poora hi haath kaat dena”. We sure have heard these feelings before but here they are so beautiful that you cannot do anything but admire that. He really loves his “ Taani ji”, one would would go any lengths to stay in an uncomfortable environment so that she gets as comfortable as possible. Sharukh really carries the common man mantle with ease.

His unexpressive love is what keeps the audience spellbound. You have got to see how he works in his room. With a pen drive still up in the port of his laptop and the string still across his neck, he portrays a person who is busy in his work but does not show that it is all work for him. He plays the part to perfection in everything where it is about loving when he sees the tiffin box packed for him the first time by anushka, blushing with a smile which everyone would love or where he would take out time to go to the movies with her. How do you beat that?? And how do you perfect the part where when anushka expresses her desire to take part in a dance competition as dance is her favourite hobby and requests her permission in a simple way by showing him the ad in a newspaper and also puts the condition that she would not do it if he doesn`t like it. He allows her by waking away quietly, leaving her disappointed with only to be surprised with the entry fees on the table. His reason “ Mujhe wahi purani wali uchalti , fudagti taani ji chahiye jissey main pyar karta hoon. Wo muskuraati hai to mujhe sakoon milta hai, wo hasti hai to mujhe aur bhi sakoon milta hai, mujhe unmein rab dikhta hai”. These lines summarise the basic fact of everyone`s life that we really love the person who we love from the bottom of our hearts and we really want that person to be really cheerfil and happy when we fell in love with that person. A change because of some compromise is not an option.

His other character raj is the person which we have known all these years. But this raj is different. He is still with a mission to make someone happy, to make her feel that the world is still a beautiful place if you look at it more closely and forget all your pains, except for the special fact that he is really uncomfortable in “ these tight pants and tight jeans” and tries to look different from the other person that he really is. He tries to shower all his love for her which he can`t do as his husband at night so the only chance which he gets is by being her dance partner throughtout the day by being raj. The Jat who would say each and everything up on his mind, be clear in his thoughts and speech. His favourite colour- yellow because “ kal aapko yellow dress mein dekha tha ji to ussi colour se pyaar ho gaya ji”. He tries to keep her at ease and happy. Its his only chance where he can speak his mind and thoughts with her.He is the one who makes realise what her heart wants, drenched in the first rainhe asks her to close her eyes and wish for something because these things come true, when she says that she hasn`t wished anything, he says, " Aapne chaha taani partner ki is dil ka dard kuch kam ho jaaye".

He asks her the the simplest question in the world with the toughest answer to it, "Ek ladki kya chahti hai?" and she replies in the most simple fashion, "Ek ladki bas yahi chahti hai ki koi ussey itna pyaar kare jitna kisi ne kisi se na kiya ho, bas itna sa hi to chahti hai ladki". Anushka is like a breath of fresh air who fits into her role perfectly. Whether its playing the bubbly character or the quiet girl who is trying to adjust to her new life. She understands the feelings of Shahrukh when she tells him that she would be a good wife but its better if he doesn`t expect her to love her because she has no love left in her and it would take her sometime to kill the old taani and be a new one altogether. She is the wife who scolds him when he puts his life on the line to win the tickets to japan, so that she is happy, she realises that she is wrong and goes to his office the next day with the tiffin box and the I AM SORRY slip. She is the girl who rediscovers herself. The girl who is sweet yet strong and can abuse when the need arises and even ride the bike at 120 km/hr. and do the dhoom style stunts. Her expressions on the face takeover the dialogues.

The music is really good and melodious- the feature of all yashraj makes. "Haule haule" really captures the beauty of being and finding love slowly and haule haule. Shahrukh is terrific in that. "Dance pe chance" is a simple song with some fast beats which teaches you the steps to dance. Listen carefully and you`ll learn a new dance step with each stanza. It would surely make you groove and not to be missed is the beautiful anushka who looks gorgeous. "Tujh mein rab dikhta hai" is the most beautiful song of the album which would set the hearts racing. Its about showing your love how much you respect her, love her, shower her with the petals and shower her with all the love you have...Its about seeing the god in the person you love. Like Taani says in one scene, "Unmein mujhe rab rab dikhta hai. Insaan ko to main chodd bhi doon magar rab ko kaise choddha jaata hai yeh mujhe nahin pata".

This movie would reaffirm your faith in love, in life and the fact that god makes jodis together and sometimes it is upto him to script some love stories. Shahrukh says, "Hum hain rahi pyaar ke, phir milenge chalte chalte". Do watch the scene where he talks to the statue and is really sad and confused as to whether she loves her husband or the other person that he is - raj.
One verdict- Do watch it.....

A cute Matrimonial Ad

I found it somewhere so posting it now so that many people can read it.... this lists all the qualities one looks for in his wife... so how much do you want???

I have been thinking now for a while as to how my spouse oughta be………

# # # # I am not looking for only a beautiful, slim and an intelligent girl…….They are all clichés. The ones that matter are:

The first prerequisite I expect of my wife --- no it isn't the ability to understand me, that's the second---- the first one's a sense of humour for me and all my nonsense

She must sleep in my lap and allow me into hers. She must run her hand into my hair and fight me with pillows as often as she can.

She must allow me to disturb her, Which I will, ---no matter how busy and serious she is and I am--- , while she goes about our household chores.

She must sit with me shoulder in shoulder when we watch the late night movie together and must oblige to have a midnight walk anytime in the night.

When the curry isn't nice and I stare into her eyes, she must straight away go and make an omlette for me.

She should call me nicknames and how innovative she coins out new ones the better and must be prepared to confront some deadly ones in return. She can call me 'Tu' or anything as am not at all particular about those pronouns.

She got every right to beat me up when I annoy her while she watches those dready serials. She can also extract what she wants of me on women's day. And I am also ready to share her pre-marital crushes and secrets.

On those rare occasions when we might fight and then go on a mourning spree, it can continue for the night. The next morning must again be normal.

I ain`t promising her a paradise but yes she will always get more of my love than our children.

And finally, she must have a higher life expectancy than me. I may not be able to live without her…..

A Tribute to a Soldier !!!

The Words on a Memorial at the Second World War Cemetry at Kohima Nagaland:

" WHEN YOU GO HOME,
TELL THEM OF US AND SAY,
THAT FOR YOUR TOMORROW,
WE GAVE OUR TODAY "

A tribute to Defence Forces of INDIA

Your alarm goes off; you hit the snooze and sleep for another 10 minutes He stays up for days on end

You take a warm shower to help you wake up He goes days or weeks without running water

You complain of a 'headache', and call in sick He gets shot at as others are hit, and keeps moving forward

You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends He still fights for your right to wear that shirt

You talk trash about your 'buddies' that aren't with you He knows he may not see some of his buddies again

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls He walks the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists

You complain about how hot it is He wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his brow

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong He doesn't get to eat today

Your wife/mother/ maid makes your bed and washes your clothes He wears the same things for weeks if needed, but makes sure his weapons are clean

You go to the mall and get your hair redone He may not have time to brush his teeth today

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over He's told he will be held over an extra 2 months

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight He waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home

You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday He holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume

You roll your eyes as a baby cries He gets a letter with pictures of his new child, and wonders if they'll ever meet

You criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything... He sees the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and ponders, why he is fighting but does his duty

You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him He hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded - and of the innocents who have no one to stand up for them

You see only what the media wants you to see He sees the broken bodies lying around him

You stay at home and watch TV He takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and eat

You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable He crawls under a tank for shade and a 5 minute nap, only to be awakened by gunfire

You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him If only there were more men like him!

The 5 stages of drunkenness

Stage 1 - SMART- This is when you suddenly become an expert on every subject in the known Universe. You know you know everything and want to pass on your knowledge to anyone who will listen. At this stage you are always RIGHT. And of course the person you are talking to is very WRONG. This makes for an interesting argument when both parties are SMART.

Stage 2 - GOOD LOOKING- This is when you realize that you are the BEST LOOKING person in the entire bar and that people fancy you. You can go up to a perfect stranger knowing they fancy you and really want to talk to you. Bear in mind that you are still SMART, so you can talk to this person about any subject under the sun.

Stage 3 - RICH- This is when you suddenly become the richest person in the world. You can buy drinks for the entire bar because you have an armoured truck full of money parked behind the bar. You can also make bets at this stage, because of course, you are still SMART, so naturally you win all your bets. It doesn't matter how much you bet 'cos you are RICH. You will also buy drinks for everyone that you fancy, because now you are the BEST LOOKING person in the world.

Stage 4 - BULLET PROOF- You are now ready to pick fights with anyone and everyone especially those with whom you have been betting or arguing. This is because nothing can hurt you. At this point you can also go up to the partners of the people who you fancy and challenge to a battle of wits or money. You have no fear of losing this battle because you are SMART, you are RICH and hell, you're BETTER LOOKING than they are anyway!

Stage 5 - INVISIBLE- This is the Final Stage of Drunkenness. At this point you can do anything because NO ONE CAN SEE YOU. You dance on a table to impress the people who you fancy because the rest of the people in the room cannot see you. You are also invisible to the person who wants to fight you. You can walk through the street singing at the top of your lungs because no one can see or hear you and because you're still SMART you know all the words.

Rock on : Live your Dreams

Rock on surely rocks!! Live your dreams. Rock on is Dil Chahta hai -2 with a difference. DCH was this trendy, cool story about 3 guys and their lives, this one is a matured one with 4. Magik surely spreads its magic. When you see the movie, do not go with images and thoughts of DCH in your mind, they would come naturally to you once the story and the movie goes on and on.

Watch it with your heart and you would come back shaken and stirred pondering on one thought as to whether we have really become some mechanical robots and lost our dreams and passions in our quest to go higher and higher. Just imagine 4 great members of a band becoming investment banker , manning the family jewellery shop, struggling for a break into the music world and another being jobless for such a long time. This movie is for all those who care about music, have music in their lives, have seen their dreams and passions shatter at some point of time.

The friendship still remains the point here. Friends do take up some really important positions in our lives and when they leave, we tend to run away from ourselves. At some point of time we choose a life which then seems comfortable but after so many years down the lane we realise that all through these years we have made compromises with our lives. The good thing is the music here Although not a chartbuster as DCH but surely a winner in its own right. A story about a rock band would have a different music than a youthful DCH. The songs might not catch your fancy while listening but they surely draw you once you get to see that how they are picturised. Apart from the title track , another fast track song which you might like would be In saat dinon mein. Some tracks would really sweep you off your feet. Its about keeping your dream, your passion alive for as long as you live. You might have compromised with your dream but a time comes when you re ignite that fire of yours. All it takes is just a small spark for the fire to blow again. This is one fire which is never reduced to ashes. All actors live their characters. Farhan akhtar brings in the natural acting foray again after DCH and Lakshya. But i think the leader has to be Arjun Rampal. He really steals the show. A man who can`t think of anything else apart from music and can`t do anything apart from music. Like in one scene he says,” all i know is music, i can`t do anything else”. Loosing touch with your friends and going on the different paths is easy , leave all behind and move on is easy but its really difficult to meet, forgive and continue from where you left previously. A message which the movie gives really beautifully is that fact that do not run away from yourself, your life. Live a complete life and keep the people who matter to you really close. Those are the ones who make the life complete. When they go away , then we realise that what void they fill in our lives. When we grow up we think that we are happy but only our inner self shows that how much satisfied we really our. Those people are lucky to whom life gives a second chance. Really lucky...

Rock on is really about life, dreams and a 2nd chance....like the lyrics says...

Rock on , hai yeh waqt ka ishaara
Rock on, har lamha pukaara
Rock on, yun hi dekhta hai kya tu
Rock on, zindagi milegi na dobara

Have you ever -

· Enjoyed the cool shade under a tree on a hot and sultry afternoon

· Drenched in the rain just like a child

· Walked on a road with no particular destination in mind
· Watched a movie all by yourself with no one to give you company

· Dreamt while travelling

· Fallen in love and then sensing the change in the world at that instant onwards

· Reflected back on your old days and wished that those will come back

· Gone on a vacation leaving all problems behind

· Admired nature and wished to remain at that place forever

· Imagined while travelling that india is indeed a really big country to explore so much

· Thought that why does music feel so soothing at the middle of the night when everything is quiet

· Took off some time from your routine and ever looked at your old childhood toys and games

· Gone on a bicycle ride at night with your friends just chatting and remembering the good old days

· Played with little children

· Eaten fruits plucked directly from the trees

· Interacted with foreigners at places of tourist attraction

· Felt eager to go to a place but not to return

· Kept that special letter hidden from the family from that really someone special

· Jumped with joy when you heard that voice

· Taken a motorcycle ride in hilly areas and felt the cool breeze touching your hair

· Felt the sudden urge to go into all those old neighbourhood areas and find your childhood friends

· Wanted to treasure that special moment of joy forever when you meet your old long lost pals

· Felt the pain when someone very dear to you gets hurt

· Felt that how much your family misses you when you are away from them for studies/job

· Stared at something so beautiful that the time stands still

· Become so engrossed in a game so much so that when the birds chirp in the morning that u r reminded that it is morning and you didn`t sleep even for a second

· Enjoyed that holiday on a chilly winter morning all wrapped up in the warm quilt and enjoying a hot cup of tea

Taare zameen par: Something different and heart touching!!

Taare zameen par is a movie which must be watched by all. It’s a compulsory must watch for persons of all age groups. And one thing more, carry your hankies with you otherwise you would find it difficult to wipe your tears during the whole length of the film. It would make you cry. Tzp has a soul of its own and it really stirs you up from deep inside..deep inside. Its not about dyslexia or about ishaan alone, its about the world and thinking of a child in general..something which we have all gone through in our lives when we were child. Now it’s the turn of our families and grownups to have a look into our world and thinking when we were kids. There is so much in common between ishaan and us that it looks like our lives are running on the screen…that is absolutely so true!!! When we used to have to have a fight with someone bigger than us then we also did what ishaan does here- fight upto the strength and then run up some place lonely, find something good there (the kite) and return home only to be scolded. Then again the pressure at school in the class at things to be done correctly- do the homework, get a bad test paper signed, scared to show it to be parents, thinking of ways to keep it away and when these are not done then like the classmates said in the class- GAYE KAAM SE… Aamir has captured the mind of ishaan and all us with absolute brilliance. No one could have done it much better, nobody. Apart from the storyline the music and the lyrics are all awesome. The lyrics capture the beauty of the storyline and say it in perfect harmony with the music. Each song has to say something, each one has a story of its own.

Bheja kum is all about the fear of the subjects..each and every one of them. Bum bum bole is all about pure joy and enjoying every moment of pure joy. Watching jame raho is pure joy…absolute chaos about every morning which happens in every home. When you want to see the real world more closely and in a big carefree way away from the hustle bustle of the happenings around you then see mera jahan. Everything in that song happens everyday but we are all too much busy to notice that. The song which showcases the real love between a son and a mother is undoubtedly maa..whenever we are away from our mother, then we realize and miss that love… the surprise package of the movie is Kholo kholo….the music is just awesome and the lyrics even one step ahead…more than full marks to it for scoring high. This song really tells you to just be you , identify your strengths and go on…fly away. Each word has some or the other inspiration. Ofcourse, the most sentimental song would be the title track.. the picturisation is perfect and exactly at what it was meant to be. Every child is special and those children are really special in their own way. They might not be having all the qualities as the other people but they have something which even the most strongest of us do lack sometimes…strong determination and the guts to fight despite all odds.

If the story is one part of the movie then the other part is pure aamir..tzp without him???impossible…any other actor in his place?? Don`t even think about that thought. Right from his entry to the very end he is a teacher and moreover a person who understands people and helps them A teacher really different from the others who lets his students really be what they are and what not he wants them to become. He knows that art needs imagination and creativity and he gives it to them. He is one character who backs you up when the chips are down, really down and you are looking down the barrel with all hope lost. He has such power that even his expressions can move you to tears without a word being said. The best scene would be the one at ishaan`s home where he has a talk with his family and the following scene shows his desperation to help someone really bad knowing that the person is loosing his natural talent. Darsheel completes ishaan`s character very well. This movie also highlights one aspect of life.. you need to have a friend in a new place and the bonding is created instantly. Had it not been for ishaan`s friend at the boarding, he would have broken down more. The friendship was giving him the spirit to fight and fight real hard. The art mela scene was truly awesome and the painting one top notch higher. I wish I could draw like that. The reaction at the prize announcement was closer to the heart…you don`t believe in your abilities when you have won something and try to hide from the eyes of the whole world bcoz you don`t know how to face it and the way to say thanks to the teacher was so heartwarming.

This movie really brings in something for everyone..watch it from your heart and then you`ll understand that EVERY CHILD IS SPECIAL…
